Opinions on the 3DS?

I assume this should go here 8D
So, are you guys excited? Or do you just think the whole 3D thing is a bit gimmicky?
Personally, I'm not convinced with 3D movies, but the technology used in the 3DS so you don't have to wear glasses sounds pretty awesome~ Plus on "The Gadget Show" they very briefly mentioned it, and said it was good and it really did have a deapth to it.

I think for me, I'd definatly buy one if I had the money for it. I could save for it, but I'd rather spend my money on cosplay materials and conventions and stalking internet celebrities so I doubt I'll get one. Yet, at least.

So, What do you think guys?

hnnn, I rly love 3D xD Though it's true a lot of movies shouldn't have been 3D. As much as I loved Tangled, there wasn't much 3D in it anyway xDDD

But I still really want 3DS, despite the mixed reviews. I've followed the NDS since the first one (Which isn't rly a big accomplishment but anyway) and I just really want it xD

The only thing bugging me is that you can't play actual NDS game cartridges on it. You have to play 3DS game cartridges, so we'll have to keep hold of our DSi since the 3DS is working as a completely different console ._____.
This is what I've heard, I'm kind of hoping it's not true, but it sounds true enough :(

Well, the 3DS does have a 2D function.

I dunno, the adverts for 3DS really annoy me. A lot of adverts are annoying me recently. They're all "Oh, let's interact with the public and pick ugly people who look like real life people to relate to the everyday man." >.>

But I like my pink original DS, I got mine when it first came out. No buying new versions and having to buy new games for me. I lose all my DS games anyway. =/

I've heard the 3DS will be able to play other DS games now, it's kind of vague xD But my friends have sampled it and say it's a lot of fun.

I love my original DS as well, I have the pink one two, though I'd have liked another colour like blue or something.
I also have a DSi but I skipped the Lite completely.
My original DS still works as good as it did when I first bought it.

Just to bump up sales, I've heard they're going to stop making original DS games shortly after the 3DS is released so that more people will be forced to buy it.
This is just what I've heard though.

Oh my God, really? I'd be so angry if they did that. >.< I do love my pink DS, I want to decorate it all cute and Lolita/Decoraey with diamantes and bows, etc. So sad of me. ^^;

Mine is covered in Doctor who stickers heh.
And my DSi has got a big Luke Triton sticker on the front xD

personally, i love the idea of the 3ds
i've trialled it also and the 3d is beautiful, much better than i first expected it so of course i preordered it on the spot
good thing i've been saving huh
it's definately able to swap between 2d and 3d. i can confirm this as i've done it myself
i've also got confirmation that the 3ds is backwards compatible, so older ds games will still work. i've been told it takes 3d pictures and videos and i'm pretty sure you can make 3d flipnotes with software similar to that of flipnote hatena. overall i'm really excited and i can't wait for friday!

I had a go on one, it's got Mii's guys, like the Wii xDD So awesome.
And it can make you a Mii by taking a photo of your face gjkflgldfkj

well i have a 3ds now so HEEERE GOOOOES
it's a really nice colour, very attractive to look at although the surface does get smudged very easily so you might want to keep a scrap of fabric handy
it does take 3d photos very well, and the 3d switch is adjustable
it also has a sort of 'pedometer' function (lol i walked ten steps in one day NEW RECORD)
the 3d is GR8 apart from you do have to be directly in front of the screen to see it, otherwise it turns a little blurry
it is most definately backwards compatible and comes with lots of free software.
augmentedreality is particularly fun although it makes me quite dizzy ahh...
anyway, all in all i think it is absolutely 100% worth it
but don't let that number concern you
